The Arkansas Forest and Drinking Water Collaborative (the Collaborative) is a loose collection of water utilities, forest industry, state and federal agencies, and nonprofit conservation associations. These entities work together to improve collaboration between the water and forest sectors for the benefit of both.

Mission: The mission of the Arkansas Forests and Drinking Water Collaborative is to facilitate conservation and better management of forested watersheds in Arkansas to protect public water supplies. In other words, the Collaborative is striving to keep forest as forest in order to receive the benefits of forest with respect to water quality protection.

The Arkansas Forest Resources Center, a University of Arkansas Center of Excellence, has the mission of developing and delivering superior programs in research and extension that enhance and ensure the sustainability of forest-based natural resources.
