We hope to see you in a couple weeks at the 2022 Arkansas Water Resources and Watersheds Conference in Fayetteville, Arkansas. A few announcements about this upcoming event: Discounted rooms are available for reservation through July 4th. See our events page for more details on reserving a room at the Hampton Inn Fayetteville. Join in on the social event Wednesday, July 13th 6:00 pm at Marley's Pizzeria & Bar. Dinner provided, drinks on your own. Come network with folks you haven't seen in awhile. Reservations for the conference are hosted by the Beaver Watershed Alliance, visit their website to complete your reservation soon. Make sure to reserve your spot on the field tour bus Thursday afternoon July 14th. These tours are a great way to see projects first hand, ask questions, and hear directly from the professionals responsible for design and implementation. We look forward to re-connecting with everyone after a long hiatus from in-person meetings. This conference will help set the stage to launch into new projects and collaborative efforts in Arkansas to improve the health of our forests and drinking water. See you soon!

The Arkansas Forests and Drinking Water Collaborative (AFDWC), the Arkansas Department of Agriculture - Forest Division, Arkansas Water Resource Center (AWRC), and Beaver Watershed Alliance (BWA), are collaborating on a watershed resource conference to be held July 13-14, 2022. The conference will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the Waldrip Hall in the state-of-the-art Don Tyson Center for Agricultural Sciences, an iconic research and education facility. This collaborative effort is bringing top-notch speakers and presentations on Harmful Algal Blooms, Recreation, Source Water Protection, and Landowner Engagement. Network and engage with water resource professionals how to sustain, improve, and protect our state's most precious resources - forests and water. Be on the lookout for more information on session topics and reservations. For now, make sure to SAVE THE DATE – July 13-14, 2022!

Fall is here and we hope you are enjoying time outside in the beautiful fall Arkansas weather and with friends and family. Do you have a favorite place you retreat to during the holiday season in Arkansas? For me, the latest hike I took was around Lake Maumelle near Natural Steps on the Ouachita Trail. It is one of the quickest places to retreat outside Little Rock to hike a trail and let my dog stretch her legs. The water is always peaceful and the surroundings quiet enough to soak in the sounds of nature. Where is yours? Feel free to share a photo with the group...
